Every state maintains an online license database. Search by agent name, NPN (National Producer Number), or agency license ID. Confirm status is Active and lines of authority include the products being sold.
Red flags
Unlicensed solicitation, pressure to pay fees outside carrier portals, and guarantees of claim approval are warning signs. Always verify before sharing personal health or financial data.
